The National 9/11 Memorial is located at Ground Zero in New York City, where it stands as a national site of remembrance and honor to the victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993.
ASCLD/LAB
ASCLD/LAB “offers voluntary accreditation to public and private crime laboratories in the United States and around the world.” They have four objectives, each of which helps maintain an excellence in crime laboratories.
American Academy of Forensic Sciences
According to their website, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences is a multi-disciplinary professional organization providing leadership to advance science and its application to the legal system. Representing forensic professionals worldwide, their goals include the promotion of "education and the elevation of accuracy, precision, and specificity in the forensic sciences". The AAFS is responsible for the Journal of Forensic Sciences in addition to newsletters and mailings from specific sections within the organization.
The DNA Initiative
The DNA Initiative’s motto is “Advancing Criminal Justice Through DNA Technology,” and the website supporting this view is full of useful information to further this goal. Among the offerings are a searchable database through audience type, a grant funding area, information on DNA, and a state-by-state listing of funding and policy information regarding DNA policy and news releases. There are also online classes available for laboratory technicians.
Evidence Photographers International Council
The nonprofit Evidence Photographers International Council’s mission is to provide its members with the education and resources to aid in the advancement of evidence photography. The website provides information on photographer certification and provides resources for evidence photographers.
International Association of Arson Investigators
The International Association of Arson Investigators is the global resource for education, professional development, and research opportunities for all individuals and institutions engaged in the field of fire, arson, and explosives investigation.
International Association of Forensic Nurses
The International Association of Forensic Nurses consists of forensic nurses and other supporting professionals. The goal of the organization is to provide leadership in forensic nursing practices through the developing, promoting, and disseminating information regarding forensic nursing.
The International Association of Investigators
The International Association of Investigators consists of members from around the globe and dedicates itself to the advancement of forensic disciplines through education. Memberships include those for students, and they also provide certification in several disciplines.
NAME
NAME, the professional organization of physician medical examiners, medical death investigators, and death investigation system administrators, was founded to foster professional growth of physician death investigators and provide vital information for the improvement of the medical investigation of violent, suspicious, and unusual deaths.
Private Investigators Association of America
Founded to promote ethical investigation and monitor and take action regarding legislation regarding private investigation, the nonprofit Private Investigators Association of America provides this website to members and visitors. It includes a listing of each state’s professional PI organizations and contact information.

Their site offers a wealth of information for victims and survivors of sexual assault, and they are the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.
