Evidence Drying Cabinets - Downflow - With Casters
Our series of ductless, Downflow Forensic Evidence Drying Cabinets perform the same function as units costing more than twice as much – they air-dry wet or damp evidence containing biological fluids and/or trace evidence while protecting laboratory personnel from odors, gases and particulates.
We offer both a 36" wide and 48" wide single door cabinet and a 60" wide double door cabinet. The double door design is similar to the single door cabinet except it is 60" wide, which allows the drying of large items such as bedspreads, blankets etc., and comes with two 200 cfm centrifugal fans and two sets of filters to accommodate the larger inside dimensions.
Our cabinets are made of a heavy gauge polypropylene material which will not rust and is easily cleaned using household detergent and then sprayed with a 10% bleach solution to eliminate DNA cross-contamination from one case to another. Since our cabinets come with hard rubber casters, they are mobile and, therefore, can be easily moved from one location to another in your laboratory.

Unlike other drying cabinets, air is drawn in from the top of our cabinets where the air is usually cleaner, then exhausted out the lower side of the cabinets. This unique airflow design prolongs the working life of the air intake Technostat pre-filter(s).
To change the three exhaust filters (Technostat, HEPA and carbon mixed bed), simply pull out the filter tray(s) located directly below the clear acrylic door(s), and insert new filters.

Filtering System
• Technostat, air intake Pre-filter located on the front top of the cabinet, traps particles down to 5 microns in size. (double door version has two Technostat pre-filters)
• Technostat pre-exhaust filter, located on the front of the cabinet below the clear acrylic door, traps particles down to 5 microns, and, therefore, prolongs the working life of the two remaining filters described below. (double door version has two separate Technostat pre-exhaust filters)
• 3" Thick, aluminum framed HEPA secondary exhaust filter traps particles down to 0.3 microns in size (double door version has two separate HEPA secondary exhaust filters)
• 4" Thick carbon, mixed bed, final-filter eliminates odors and gases (double door version has two separate carbon, mixed bed, final-filters)
• Filtering system effective to 99.997%
• Unlike most evidence drying cabinets, the air is drawn down from the top front of the cabinet and exhausted through the bottom. Since room air is usually cleaner near the ceiling, this unique approach prolongs the working life of the air intake pre-filter
• Complies with OSHA guidelines
• The Technostat air intake pre-filter(s) on the top front of the cabinet should be replaced every 3 to 6 months under normal use or when it becomes discolored
• The Technostat exhaust pre-filter(s) located in the bottom (below clear acrylic door[s]) of the cabinet should be inspected every 6 months and changed if discolored
• The HEPA and carbon mixed bed filter(s) located in the bottom (below clear acrylic door[s]) of the cabinet have a working life from 24 to 36 months under normal use
• Filters are easily changeable by operator
• Drying cabinets are supplied with a complete set of filters
